HOME REMEDIES FOR ACIDITY (Acid Reflux) A PERMANENT SOLUTION

If you are reading this, you too are going through the same pain and restlessness I went through for almost a year before I understood the root cause of acidity and found the sure-shot way of treating the problem.

Hello everyone! Today, we’re tackling a widespread issue that many of us in India are all too familiar with: acidity or acid reflux. That fiery sensation in your chest, indigestion, and the relentless bloating – acidity can make life truly uncomfortable. I have personally faced it and here I am to share my findings on how to address the core problem and cure it for good.

UNDERSTANDING THE ACIDIC DILEMMA

Acidity, or heartburn, is a result of the stomach’s overproduction of acid, leading to that uncomfortable burning sensation in your chest, indigestion, and excessive bloating. When I started facing the issue, I was not interested in the root cause behind it and just wanted to cure it and move on. After suffering irregular bouts for about six months, the problem became severe and I was having heartburn on a daily basis. At that point, I decided to understand the basic process and deal with it. Till that time, I was taking PAN-D, Pan-40, or Digene on almost a daily basis. Apart from giving temporary relief, these tablets did not do much good and the problem persisted and kept me irritated for almost year.

ADDRESSING THE ROOT CAUSES

If you’re tired of reaching for temporary relief, it’s time to tackle the problem at its core. I am sharing my 9-step permanent solution to this irritating problem. If you could follow this routine and bring around the required changes in your daily routine, I can guarantee you will never face this problem again.

STEP 1. Cheers to Lukewarm Water

Start your day with a warm embrace from a glass of lukewarm water, at least 500 ml. This simple practice can aid in kick-starting your digestion and help you freshen up quickly. Also, end your day with a similar glass to soothe your stomach.

STEP 2. Meal Timings

The human body functions like a well-tuned machine. It works best when a schedule is followed on a daily basis. If someone wakes up at 9 am every day and tries to wake up at 5 am one day then it would be very difficult for him.  Similarly when we take the first meal of the day at the same time every day say at 9 am, our body aligns with this schedule and produces gastric acid accordingly but if we don’t have any fixed breakfast timing, our body does not know when to produce the acid. This results in the production of excess or less acid and causes acidity and indigestion.

The key here is to have meals at the same time every day to maintain the balance and keep acidity at bay.

STEP 3.  Teatime Troubles: The Tea Connection

For many Indians, a day doesn’t start without a cup of chai. While it’s a beloved tradition, tea consumption especially empty stomach usually leads to acidity. Consider reducing your tea intake or opting for herbal teas like ginger or peppermint, which are gentler on the stomach.
Stop taking tea empty stomach.

STEP 4. Breakfast Blunders: Say No to Solo Poha and omlette

Poha is a popular breakfast choice, but consuming it alone can be a trigger for acidity. Enhance your morning meal by pairing poha with fruits or other breakfast items like eggs or yogurt to prevent acidity.

Similarly, while eggs are a protein-packed breakfast staple, having them on an empty stomach can be harsh on your digestive system. Ensure you have a balanced meal to accompany those eggs

STEP 5. Stub Out Smoking

Quitting cigarettes isn’t just beneficial for your overall health; it’s also a win against acidity. Smoking can increase stomach acid production, contributing to discomfort. Kicking the habit is a step in the right direction.  Have benefitted personally by following this.

STEP 6. Shed Some Pounds: Weight and Acidity

Excess weight can put pressure on your stomach, leading to acid reflux and heartburn. Consider incorporating a regular exercise routine and a balanced diet to help you shed those extra pounds.

STEP 7. Spice Smartly: Less is More

Indian cuisine is known for its bold and flavorful spices. While they can be delightful, consuming excessively spicy food may trigger acidity. Opt for milder spice levels or consider using herbs like basil and coriander to flavor your dishes.

STEP 8.  Timing is Key: Dine Early

Having dinner at least two hours before bedtime gives your body ample time to digest the food, reducing the risk of acid reflux while you sleep.

STEP 9.  The Amlapittari Vati Solution

One noteworthy remedy for acidity is Amlapittari Vati by Sri Sri Tattva. Take one tablet thrice a day for a duration of 15 days. This ayurvedic medicine provides both short-term relief and long-term comfort. This is the only medicine that has helped me immensely. Taking it religiously for 15 days can really help you take control of this problem.

Follow this routine and you will see the difference in just 3-4 days. However, if you need quick fix, apart from taking over the counter tablets, you can also tru one of the below mentioned remedy.
